Hello, and welcome to the website of the CACAYC, a council that has and will continue to service members of the youth in our communities, educate the youth on issues affecting them today, and promote and support efforts by the Asian community.

November 15, 2009 - Update on college Financial Aid Workshop preparations, recount of Tag (graffiti removal) event, as well as discussion about upcoming projects. Meeting transcript is available here.

December 2, 2007 - Possible project proposals, ranging from Christmas charity donation to water safety, as well as having discussed a resume workshop for summer jobs and a Financial Aid workshop during January. Meeting transcript is available here.

November 4, 2007 - Discussed a recent college essay workshop; campus tour stil needs to be planned out. Interest has been expressed at going abroad for the summer, and for the Young Heroes Program. Transcript is posted and is available.

October 7, 2007 - A personal essay workshop will take place on October 27th, at 3pm at Bruggermeyer Library. Campus visits are to be announced, but are in the works. UNICEF trick-or-treat boxes have been passed out; ask Brittney (lead) for details. As always, a plaintext version of the meeting transcript is available here.

September 9, 2007 - Projects such as a cultural tutoring program and brochures on blood donation, emergency (earthquake/blackout/etc.) procedures, and health insurance added. Minutes from this meeting are available in .txt format here.

May 17, 2007 - The Youth Talent Show form has been updated. Also, the National Youth Leadership Conference 2007 Brochure has been posted under Youth Programs.

May 7, 2007 - The Youth Talent Show due date has been changed to June 1, 2007 to allow for more applicants.

April 9, 2007 - The 2007 Youth Talent Show Form and Information is up. It's located under Youth Programs in the side menu.

March 4, 2007 - The annual CACA national essay contest was held on March 3, 2007. Today's meeting consisted of discussion on upcoming events, including college visits to UCLA and UCSD. The YC is making progress on a newer edition of its Scholarship Book, which will soon be available for publishing and possible online viewing. We further discussed the progress of this year's NYLC.

Sunday January 7, 2007 - The website is finally functional. Today will be the first WSGV YC monthly meeting of the new year, held at 1:30 p.m. in one of the back study rooms in the Monterey Park Library.

Immediately after the monthly meeting ( about 2:30 p.m.), we will have an organizing meeting for the upcoming National Youth Leadership Conference (NYLC) to be held in late June at UCLA. For those who missed the college financial aid workshop, we will have an abbreviated version (15 minutes) of it after the NYLC meeting. If you plan to attend the FINAID briefing (around 3 p.m.), please email Winston Wu so he can bring handouts for you.

Copies of the YC newly published bird flu brochure are now available at the libraries in Monterey Park, Alhambra, and Chinatown.
